Wings and the Dragon

This drawing is a piece I did for myself as a potential tattoo. I enjoy dragons, butterflies, and the wings of lunar moths, so I decided to mix them together for this unique piece. I added eyes to the wings of the moth because sometimes the patterns on a moth’s wings can look shockingly similar to the shape of eyes. The dragon is wrapped around the moth in protection of it, while the moth flies gracefully without worry. I see the two together sort of like day and night or hot and cold, hence the added feature of the sun and moon. I feel they complement each other, flowing smoothly while working as a team, and I enjoy the delicate but powerful mystery of the piece.
