That ‘70s Show

Acrylic - 2021

This acrylic painting is based on the characters of the 1998 sitcom “That ‘70s Show,” and their supposed high circles at the end of each episode. With the show being one of my favorites, I knew I wanted to give an ode to the fun that it brings. I found a similar color-shifting image on Pinterest and wanted to give myself the challenge of painting a vivid, layered painting. The process of this painting was quite long and at times difficult, but it taught me a ton about painting faces and trying to paint with somewhat neon tones. However, the work paid off, and I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. This painting is so fun and very interesting to look at (especially in person) because it can almost look like an illusion at times!
